A variety of source files are provided for each tutorial, and you may choose to download, edit, reformat and locally host them.

Newer tutorial source packages include:

• .doc (MS Word) file containing a script of the tutorial
• .cpx file (Adobe Captivate file), this is the primary source file of the tutorial
• .f4v file (Adobe Flash video file), this is the video output of the tutorial, ideal for uploading to YouTube
• "audio" folder containing .mp3 audio files of tutorial narration
• "images" folder containing images used in the tutorial, including a 225x170 thumbnail
• The "flash_publish" folder is not included in these packages to save space. Open the captivate file and publish to Flash(SWF) to output the .swf/.js/.htm files

Possible source files for older tutorials include:

• .doc (MS Word) file containing a script of the tutorial
• .cp or .cpx file for flash-based tutorials created in Adobe Captivate (Adobe Captivate is required to manipulate these files)
• "audio" folder containing .mp3 audio files of tutorial narration
• "image" folder containing images that we have created for the tutorial including the thumbnail image representing the tutorial (this folder may not include all images used in the tutorial)
• for website-style tutorials (MLA and APA guides), zipped folders containing .html and .css files are included
• "flash_publish" folder containing files created by Captivate. These are the "live" streaming tutorial files, use these files if you do not wish to make any changes to the tutorials, but would like to host the tutorial on your own server
  All three files must be in the same folder in order to work when published to the web:
• .swf file (Shockwave Flash/Small Web Format file, which can be edited with a .swf editor)
• .htm file (The web wrapper for the .swf file. You can edit this page in a text editor to include your university contact info, etc.)
• .js file (javascript file. "standard.js" must be in the same folder with any tutorial .swf files and .htm files so that the files can work together. If you have multiple tutorial .swf and .htm files in the same folder, you only need one common "standard.js" file)

Notice that these tutorials and associated quizzes are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike cc by-nc-sa license. This means you may reuse, edit, and share your new tutorial, but it must be non-commercial, CLIP must be attributed credit, and you must use this same license for all derivative works.
